Dev Crew is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all users on the platform — including Admins, Instructors, and Learners. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what rights you have over your information. By using the Dev Crew platform, you acknowledge and consent to the practices described in this policy.

Dev Crew collects the following categories of data depending on your role: (1) Account data — name, email address, password hash, role, and profile information provided at registration or assigned by an Admin. (2) Course & learning data — courses enrolled in or created, video watch progress, quiz attempts and scores, assignment submissions, and completion records. (3) Content data — videos, documents, images, and other assets uploaded by Instructors or Admin Instructors. (4) Communication data — messages sent through the in-platform chat system and feedback submitted on courses. (5) Usage data — login timestamps, pages visited, actions performed within the CMS, and device and browser information collected automatically via logs.

Dev Crew uses collected data to: operate and deliver the platform's core features including course access, quiz scoring, assignment tracking, live class scheduling, and notifications; manage user accounts, roles, and permissions across the three-tier access system; process manual course purchases and maintain purchase records; send system notifications, course updates, and administrative communications; monitor and improve platform performance, detect abuse or security threats, and enforce these terms; and generate aggregated, anonymized analytics to help Admins and Instructors understand learner engagement and course effectiveness. We do not use your personal data for advertising purposes.

Dev Crew does not sell your personal data to third parties. Data may be shared in the following limited circumstances: with the organization or institution that operates your Dev Crew tenant, as Admins have access to all user and activity data within their tenant; with service providers who assist in platform infrastructure, video hosting, and email delivery, bound by confidentiality agreements; with other users within the same platform in ways necessary for the service to function, such as an Instructor seeing their enrolled learners' names and progress, or a learner seeing an Instructor's name and course content; and as required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

Course content uploaded to Dev Crew — including videos, documents, quizzes, and assignments — is accessible only to users who have been enrolled or granted access by an Admin or Instructor. Learner progress data, quiz scores, and assignment submissions are visible to the learner themselves and to Instructors and Admins overseeing their courses. Chat messages are visible to the participants of that conversation and may be reviewed by Admins for policy compliance. Dev Crew does not make any learner data publicly accessible.

Dev Crew sends platform notifications related to course activity, assignment deadlines, quiz results, live class reminders, and system updates. Administrative emails may be sent to account holders regarding account changes, policy updates, or manual purchase confirmations. You may manage your notification preferences within your account settings. You cannot opt out of essential system communications such as account security alerts or Admin-initiated messages.

Dev Crew uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your authenticated session, remember your preferences, and collect usage analytics. Session cookies are required for the platform to function and are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies are used to remember your login state and settings. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You may configure your browser to refuse cookies, but doing so may prevent you from accessing authenticated areas of the platform.

Dev Crew retains personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If an Admin deactivates or deletes a user account, personal account data is removed from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to any legal retention obligations. Course content uploaded by an Instructor may be retained after account deactivation at the Admin's discretion to preserve continuity for enrolled learners. Anonymized usage and analytics data may be retained indefinitely. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting your platform Admin or our support team.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access the personal data Dev Crew holds about you; correct inaccurate or incomplete data; request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal or operational retention requirements; object to or restrict certain processing of your data; and receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise these rights, contact your platform Admin or reach out to us directly. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Dev Crew may integrate with third-party services for video delivery, live class hosting, payment processing, and analytics. When you interact with these integrations, your data may be processed by those third-party providers under their own privacy policies. Dev Crew is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. Admins are responsible for ensuring that any third-party integrations they enable within their tenant comply with applicable data protection requirements for their users.

Dev Crew implements industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), hashed password storage, role-based access controls, and regular security monitoring. While we take these precautions seriously, no system is completely immune to security risks. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our platform features, data practices, or legal obligations. When we make significant changes, we will notify users through the Dev Crew notification system or by email. The updated policy will indicate the revised effective date at the top of the page. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
